The Om symbol is a sacred syllable representing Brahman, the impersonal Absolute - omnipotent, omnipresent, and the source of all manifest existence. The three portions of AUM relate to the states of waking, dream and deep sleep. The three letters also indicates three planes of existence, heaven, earth and netherworld. Aum is said to be the essence of the Vedas, it is the sound of the Sun and the sound of Light. It is the sound of assent (affirmation) and ascent (it has an upwards movement and uplifts the soul, as the sound of the divine eagle or falcon). Charm measures 5/8" in width and 3/4" in length. Lovely little pendant!
This is a lovely little silver pendant is just right for a petite person. It looks much more expensive than it was -- reduced from $30.00 to $10.00! Very sturdy, lovely silver 3/4 of an inch, not flimsy. The picture does not do it justice! Also, Taos Trading sent it in a little box -- a very nice touch!
